Our Studio Policies, Explained

Here's a plain-English walk-through of our terms and conditions.
Why no smoking, vaping, alcohol, or drugs?
The short version: It's bad for the gear. Smoke and vapor residue gets into electronics, speaker cones, and drum heads. These aren't moral positions — they're practical ones. The rooms need to be in good condition for whoever books them next, and the facility needs to run safely without staff present.
Pets follow the same logic. Allergies are real, and not everyone wants to set up their gear in a room where a dog was running around.
What does "your session includes pack-in and pack-out" mean?
It means your booking window is your total time in the room — setup to teardown, not just playing time. If you book a two-hour session, plan for fifteen minutes of setup at the start and fifteen minutes of breakdown at the end. That leaves you roughly ninety minutes of actual rehearsal.
This is true of every rehearsal studio you'll ever use. Plan accordingly.
Sessions that run beyond the reserved time will incur additional charges. This isn't punitive — it's because someone else may have booked the room immediately after you. The access system is automated, and we want to be transparent about how it works.
Why is the person who booked responsible for the whole group?
Because someone has to be. In an unstaffed facility, there's no staff member to intervene if something goes sideways. The person who booked the room accepted the terms at the time of booking — that makes them the accountable party for what happens during the session.
In practice this rarely matters. Most sessions are uneventful. But if gear gets damaged or a policy gets violated, the booking party is the point of contact.
Why can't I share my access code?
Your code is tied to your booking. Sharing it means someone else could access the facility outside of a booked session — or during yours — without any accountability trail. The access log is part of how we keep the space secure and how we resolve disputes if something goes wrong. An unlogged entry breaks that system.
This also protects you. If your code is shared and something happens during a session you weren't part of, untangling that is a problem for everyone.
What happens if something gets damaged?
Guests are responsible for reimbursing repair or replacement costs for any property damaged during their session. Cameras are running throughout, and the rooms are documented before and after each booking.
If you arrive and find something already damaged, flag it immediately before your session begins — not after. That timestamp matters.
Why are there cameras?
Security and accountability. The facility runs without staff on site, which means cameras do the work that a front desk would otherwise do. They protect customers as much as they protect the facility — if something is wrong when you arrive, there's a record. If someone accesses the space improperly, there's a record.
We disclose this clearly because you deserve to know. The footage is not shared publicly.
What counts as disruptive or unsafe behavior?
We're not going to publish an exhaustive list, but the standard is straightforward: behavior that endangers people, damages property, or makes the space unusable for others. This includes things like violence, threats, intentional property damage, and violations of the conduct policy. Just be cool.
If a situation arises, the response may include removal without refund and loss of future booking privileges. This is a last resort. We want you to have a good session — these consequences exist for the rare situation where someone makes that impossible.
What's your cancellation policy?
Cancel 24 hours or more before your session: full refund.
Cancel within 24 hours: credit toward a future session.
No-show: no refund or credit.
The 24-hour window exists because last-minute cancellations leave rooms sitting empty with no time to rebook them. The credit option for late cancellations is there because we understand things come up — again, it's not a punishment, it's a middle ground.
If you know you need to cancel, do it early.
What's the policy for younger musicians?
Guests 15 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult for the duration of their session. Guests ages 16–17 may book unattended with a signed parental waiver on file prior to their first session.
Young musicians are welcome here. The waiver process for 16–17 year olds is straightforward — contact us to get that started before your first booking.
Do I have to agree to all of this just to book?
Yes — by booking a room or entering the facility, you're acknowledging that you've read and agree to these terms. We're not hiding that. It's the same acknowledgment you'd make at any venue, gym, or rental facility.
The reason we wrote this post is that a list of rules without context can feel arbitrary.
None of these policies are arbitrary. They exist because the facility runs on trust, and trust works both ways.
